The day before Mallory and Reese’s wedding, I joined them at their rehearsal and could already feel how much love surrounded them. By the time the wedding day arrived, everyone was ready to celebrate, and with Seals & Co keeping everything organized, the whole day was just SO special to capture.
Mallory got ready in the bridal suite at Mattie’s at Green Pastures with her mom, sister, and closest friends by her side. Wild Bunches Floral designed her bouquet and arrangements, and they were absolutely stunning, soft, timeless, and so perfectly her. The fresh greenery made the whole design feel so full of life for spring. And can we please talk about her dress? Literally to die for. Reese also got ready at the venue, surrounded by his groomsmen and family. Mallory and Reese waited to see each other until that first walk down the aisle, which made the “getting ready” part of the day full of so much excitement!
The ceremony took place under the iconic tree at Mattie’s, which made the moment feel so special. Mallory walked with her dad down the aisle while their guests stood, flower girls in bows and baskets leading the way. The wedding party wore mix-and-match green and blue dresses with the groomsmen in black suits, and they were holding back tears (and so was I lol!) It was such a special moment to watch and document. When Mallory and Reese exchanged vows and shared their first kiss as husband and wife, they walked back down the aisle smiling ear to ear.
After the ceremony, they shared a private moment together before we moved into couple’s portraits and family photos. While I was photographing these moments, their guests headed to cocktail hour, which my second photographer captured beautifully. It was a total vibe with laughter, clinking glasses, and everyone soaking in the spring evening at Mattie’s. They even had a Polaroid camera out for guests to take photos with, which added such a fun and personal touch. These in-between moments are always some of my favorites on a wedding day, stepping back from the big energy to let the quiet, meaningful moments shine.
The reception was a dream from start to finish. Mallory and Reese sat at a long table surrounded by their wedding party, candles GLOWING across the room, and dinner served by the Mattie’s team. The evening flowed beautifully with heartfelt toasts, champagne glasses clinking, and so much laughter and tears. Their first dance inside Mattie’s was so romantic, with Mallory’s dress moving effortlessly as they twirled across the floor. From there, the party kicked off with a packed dance floor, cake cutting, a playful candy bar, and music that kept everyone celebrating late into the night.
I photographed the day on both digital and 35mm film with my second shooter, making sure every laugh, tear, and little glance was captured exactly as it felt. From the morning to the last dance, Mallory and Reese’s spring wedding at Mattie’s at Green Pastures was full of love, intention, and joy. Days like this make me feel so lucky to be trusted with such special moments. The beauty is not in perfectly posed moments, but in the unplanned laughter, the small gestures, and the way two people look at each other when they know they have found home.
