WHAT ARE CREATIVE SESSIONS?

Here you are, looking for a photographer to capture your engagement/wedding/couples session, and you’re looking at alllll the inspiration you can find on social media platforms. You’re seeing all of these dreamy picture perfect photos, but you may think to yourself “that isn’t us.” If you cannot see your relationship in someone else’s vision, that is because your relationship is unique and different! OR maybe you can see yourself in them, but you just want something “more fun.” As a creative person, of course, I am inclined to love everything about creative sessions, but not in a way you may think, more in a way that gives me the opportunity to capture emotion with freedom. Creative sessions bring an opportunity to create how you + your relationship is represented in a way that is true to you. 

What does this look like? Think of your session as a “date”, spending quality time with your partner while doing something you two already love, or trying something new. 

SET THE SCENE (CHOOSING LOCATION)

You’re hooked, you want to have a creative session, but you are drawing a blank on specifics. These questions will help you along the way (I also have a bucket list of creative ideas if you just want to try something new and fun!): 

• Where was your first date? Can we recreate a similar vibe? 
• What is your favorite “date night” as a couple? (think: hiking, picnic, water sports, bar night, swimming, ect)
• Is there an object or place that holds a lot of value to you as a couple? (think: old truck/bike, guitar, place of significance (wedding venue, proposal spot, ect) 
• What would you LOVE to wear? How do you envision yourselves looking, dressed up/dressed down? Are you comfortable getting a little messy or want to keep your hair in place? If you don’t mind getting a little messy/wet, maybe you would relate more to an outdoor/water session. If you want to stay in air conditioning and keep clean, maybe you would relate more to an indoor session.

WHAT DO WE GET!?

You just had a super fun creative session and cannot even wait to see your photos. What do we get and when do we get them!? ALL of my creative sessions will receive a “sneak peek” gallery within twenty-four hours, that includes a few previews from our session. Then, the second your gallery is ready you will get an email link to your full gallery, which will include: a story telling gallery including professionally edited images in color/black and white, along with some film photographs. But, more importantly you will create:

• An incredibly fun memory being in front of the camera 
• Photographs that document your relationship in its raw form (that you can use for your wedding invites/website!) 
• Photographs that create more enjoyment with time! Personally, I look at photos of my parents when they were young all the time, and value the fun ones SO much more than the “smile and look at the camera” ones!
